LITTERS

Litter Plans

We do not have any puppy plans at the moment.

We at kennel Nighthaven strive to breed healthy dogs that fit the Australian Shepherd breed standard. While character is paramount, we also want our dogs to look like an aussie should ‒ moderate and built for working tirelessly beside us humans. We are located in Northern Finland, in a small town called Tornio.

For as long as I can remember, dogs have been a part of my life. My grandparents have bred Finnish hounds since the 1990s, and through their work, I got my first glimpse of what breeding dogs is like. In 2006 our family welcomed a Nova Scotian Duck Tolling Retriever named Banjo, and ever since that day I have known that I always want to have a dog in my life. Banjo taught us a lot about what life is like with an active breed such as tollers, and I have him to thank for my eventual interest in aussies. When we lost Banjo in 2019, I knew I wanted my next dog to have similar qualities (be active, have potential for any hobby I can think of, and have a strong desire to work together with me) and eventually my gaze drifted to aussies.

At the end of 2021 we welcomed home our very first aussie, our beloved ApolloIn the very last weeks of 2024 we flew to France and picked up our future hope, aussie girl Versa, who is co-owned with her breeder Florence at kennel Kodaline. Another dear family member of ours is our Miniature American Shepherd Orion.

I am always open to discuss my thoughts about breeding. Facebook is a great way to get in touch, and you can also find us on Instagram under the handle @nighthavenaussies. You can also leave me a message below ‒ I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Warmest regards,
